For JULY edition of the Vegan Package Swap we’ve decided to publish small interviews with the companies/brands/people involved so our readers and swappers can get to know a little bit more about all these vegan and/or vegan-friendly business around the world.
We’ve teamed up with Vx to give away TWO T-SHIRTS – surprise design! – to our UK swappers. Vx makes some of the best vegan tees around and we appreciate them working with us! They are the best vegan shop in London and if you’re around visiting the shop is a MUST. Their website is an on-line store that ships worldwide!
For a chance to win all you need is to be an UK resident and JOIN JULY edition of VPS – between the 3rd and 5th. The luck winners will be announced on July 6th.
Last February you’ve celebrated 3 years of Vx, right? How things have changed since the opening of the store?
A lot of things have changed (and improved) since the opening in February 2010! It feels like 10 years to me. I still can’t believe it that we were the first to think / have the guts to open a vegan shop in London! Haha.
What are your best selling products?
We sell a bit of everything so it’s a bit of everything… Cake, grocery, shoes, t-shirts… We are now offering more and more take away food (customised sandwiches, nachos). We just went through a major make-over and we are now able to create some crazy sandwiches on demand.
What vegans will find at Vx that’s hard to find anywhere else in London?
I’m always looking for stuff that can’t be found in the UK. We are known for having introduced Vegusto No Muh cheese to the UK back in 2010-2011. We have the largest section of vegan cheese you’ll ever dream of. Vegan cheese that tastes good. We import stuff from all over the world. We are the only place in Europe that sells Fieldroast products. That’s why we have got a massive following and people know that we’re always coming up with some crazy new products.
What is exactly the Secret Society of Vegans and what’s its relation to Vx?
Secret Society Of Vegans is the clothing company. It was started almost ten years ago. I didn’t want to call the shop SSOV because it’s a long and silly name. And it made sense to separate the two.
Vx is the shop and we sell the SSOV merch there but we sell a lot of things there. It’s called Vx because it’s near Kings X station. For people outside the UK, the ‘X’ is pronounced ‘Cross’. So, Vx is pronounced ‘V Cross’…
Do you consider London the most vegan friendly city in Europe?
It’s vegan friendly because of veganism being mainstream. You can find vegan products everywhere and everything is well labeled in supermarkets. But on the hand, Berlin (Germany) seems to have the best vegan restaurants. I can’t believe how many vegan coffeeshop/bakeries/restaurants/shops that are located in Berlin.
Good luck and make sure to “Like” Vx on Facebook too!
