I have to confess that I have always been a chocoholic. I could eat chocolate every single day on my pre-vegan days and when I became vegan there weren’t many choices out there – especially in Brazil – so I had to learn to live without (much) chocolate. In the last decade vegan options are everywhere. Really. It’s amazing that you can find so many products and chocolate is one of those that are available even in big supermarkets.
Having said that, I still prefer to support vegan and small or local companies and I was excited when Tasha from Tasha’s Dairy Free Delights sent me a message on Twitter asking to send a few samples to review. One thing that can actually be better than vegan chocolate is vegan homemade chocolate. I checked her website and everything looked delicious and so perfectly and carefully done, I couldn’t wait. And considering that my little one is getting into these lovely treats now I knew I’d have someone to share them and have a second opinion in the review.
When I got the package I had to convince him that mum had to take pictures before we could devore them and that was a hard task but I’ve managed it. Took that beautiful morning to photograph them in their lovely packaging in our backyard. They were so cute and Tasha told me she would send some shapes especially for him.
The first one I tried was the Caramel Flavour because there’s an Irish brand here that made something like it and I’m crazy about them! They melt in my mouth and tasted like heaven. I knew they would be my favourite already.
The little one ate half of the Rice Milk Chocolate flavoured bunny in a few minutes. I could see how much he loved it and couldn’t believe I was able to get a picture before it was gone! I’m saving the other bunny to Easter day (yes, had to hide it).
I had the pleasure of eating the Chocolate Orange Flavour and the Mint Chocolate Flavour basically all my own as the little one is more into pure chocolate but he couldn’t resist a few bites in that robot shaped treat, right?! Again, delicious, soft, great balance of flavours in both of them. I wasn’t a big fan of orange chocolate before as it’s not common in Brazil but I got into them after moving to Ireland and Tasha’s one just confirmed that I really like the combo!
Tasha’s Dairy Free Delights really offers some tasty dairy-free/vegan delights and supporting her business should be a must for those living in the UK!
