Rice Crispy Treats are a classic childhood dessert that can be easily whipped up with staples in your pantry and ready to serve in under 20 minutes. My toddler enjoys helping press them into the pan, and I’m sure older children would be a great help with the entire recipe. These taste very close to the regular treats so you can even serve them to non-vegans without them ever questioning it.
Rice Crispy Treats
6 cups of rice crispy cereal
1 bag of marshmallows
1/3 cup of Earth Balance
I’m sure there are other brands of the items above, but these are the brands I used for this recipe *
Melt the Earth Balance in a pan over medium heat, add all the marshmallows and continually stir with a spatula until they lose their form. Add the rice crispies, turn off the heat, and stir until all the ingredients are mixed well (do this fast because the marshmallow mix will start to harden). Spread into a casserole dish, let it cool for 15 minutes, and cut into squares or use cookie cutters for different designs. Enjoy!!
